Portfolio:
Archery
Summit
Archery Summit’s
mission is to produce superior Pinot Noir from its four estate vineyards -
Archery Summit Estate, Arcus Estate, Red Hills Estate and Renegade Ridge
Estate. Expressive wines from each of these vineyards create the backbone
of its exceptional blend, Premier Cuvée. Located in one of the
finest Pinot Noir producing regions of the world, in the acclaimed Red
Hills of Oregon, Archery Summit’s handcrafted wines are moved through its
state-of-the-art facility in French oak barrels entirely by gravity flow
to ensure the varietal’s delicate integrity and subtle nuances. It’s the
winery’s embrace of crafting wine in the Old World Burgundian tradition
that is partly responsible for the winery’s consistent high ratings.
Diamond Creek Vineyards
Established in 1968 by Al Brounstein,
a visionary pioneer who defied modern conventions and planted Bordeaux
varietals on secluded Diamond Mountain in the Napa Valley, Diamond Creek
is California's first exclusively Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Vineyard.
Part of Diamond Creek's uniqueness is the identification of three vineyard
blocks (and thereby three separate wines) by the differences in soil
structure and exposition, and naming them for their geological forms Red
Rock Terrace (seven acres with reddish- brown soil facing north), Gravelly
Meadow (five relatively flat acres with a gravelly, sandy soil) and
Volcanic Hill (eight acres of white volcanic ash on the hillside facing
south). Reviews constantly rate Diamond Creek's cabernets among the
best California has to offer.
Kistler
Vineyards
Founded in 1978 by the
Kistler family, Kistler Vineyards is a small, family-owned and operated
winery in the Russian River Valley specializing in the production of
Burgundian-styled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Kistler's unique
chardonnay is made using traditional French techniques, is completely
barrel-fermented, and has distinct character. Kistler's pinot noir
vineyards in the Russian River Valley and the Sonoma Coast contain a
mixture of clones from French and American sources and is as unique as the
chardonnays. As Robert Parker stated in The Wine Advocate:
"If the Kistler Winery could be magically transported to the middle of
Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, it would quickly gain a reputation as glorious as
any producer of Burgundy grand crus".
Pahlmeyer
Since its inception
in the early 80’s, Pahlmeyer’s mission has been to produce wines with
power and personality. A strict viticultural regime combined with a risky
but rewarding approach to winemaking creates wines having extravagant,
concentrated fruit, polish and pizzazz. Using the clonal varieties of
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec from
France, winemaker Randy Dunn created legendary Californian Bordeaux blends
and placed Pahlmeyer among the serious Cabernet producers. Development
with Wayfarer Farm will allow Pahlmeyer to offer world class Pinot Noir
and expand its Chardonnay offering.
Philip Togni
Philip Togni’s first
wines were Cabernet and Sauvignon blanc in 1983, but the small
family-owned vineyard now concentrates its efforts on a very ageworthy
Margaux-type blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc and Petit
Verdot, all grown on a 25 acre parcel where they also live. Having the
unique distinction of being 100% ‘Estate Bottled’ is an important
definition for Philip Togni, meaning that they grow all the grapes on land
they own, make then bottle the wine at the vineyard with their own
workers, totally free from outside influences.
Ramey Wine Cellars
After two decades of
creating benchmark wines for such California wineries as Matanzas Creek,
Chalk Hill, Dominus and Rudd, David Ramey and his wife Carla founded Ramey
Wine Cellars in 1996. The winery produces authentic, hand-crafted wines
made in an Old World tradition--coupled with New World innovation and
California terroir. Owned exclusively by David and his wife Carla, grapes
are sourced from vineyards with which David has worked for many years with
their next project being to purchase land and develop their own vineyards.
Consistently rated among the best wines in California, the winery remains
committed to Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and soon Syrah as its primary
varietals.
